Who is God?
2 SAMUEL 22: 31-37
THE MESSAGE
Is
there any god like God?
Are we not at bedrock?
Is not this the God who armed me well,
then aimed me in the right direction?
Now I run like a deer;
I'm king of the mountain.
He shows me how to fight;
I can bend a bronze bow!
You protect me with salvation-armor;
you touch me and I feel ten feet tall.
You cleared the ground under me
so my footing was firm.

Despite
his larger than average imperfections, David is known for being a man after
God's heart. The context of the above passage is after David's
adultery with Bathsheba, after losing his throne to Absalom,
after regaining his throne-- after the unfortunate loss of Absalom. Chapter 22 of Second Samuel is towards the conclusion of David's
story. In the above scripture David brings attention to his saving-protection, shield,
strength, and source of authority--GOD.
