We wait,
and wait, but he will return!

Romans 8:18–30 (ESV)
18For I consider that the sufferings of this present
time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
19For the creation waits with eager longing for the
revealing of the sons of God.
20For the creation was subjected to futility, not
willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
21that the creation itself will be set free from its
bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of
God.
22For we know that the whole creation has been groaning
together in the pains of childbirth until now.
23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have
the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption
as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
24For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen
is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?
25But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it
with patience.
26Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we
do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for
us with groanings too deep for words.
27And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of
the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will
of God.
28And we know that for those who love God all things
work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
29For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be
conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn
among many brothers.
30And those whom he predestined he also called, and
those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also
glorified.
Paul knew suffering!
18For I consider
that the sufferings of this present time
are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Paul is a good judge of
suffering!
2 Corinthians
11:23–28 (ESV)
23Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am
talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with
countless beatings, and often near death.
24Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the
forty lashes less one.
25Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was
stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea;
26on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger
from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the
city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers;
27in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless
night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure.
28And, apart from other things, there is the daily
pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.
·
This man
understands suffering for Christ
·
We don’t, we
sit up here with our coffee
·
We drive home
in our cars
·
And sit in our
air conditioners
·
We think the
little we do suffer is HORRIBLE
·
Would you still
be a Christian today of Jesus ask you to suffer like Paul??
·
Kind of puts in
in perspective, huh??
This he says this!
Are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Why?
·
He understands
what’s waiting
·
Do you?
·
He is trying to
put this process of sanctification in perspective
·
Why we have to
do it!
·
Because Glory
is waiting
·
Jesus is
waiting
·
This is but a
moment in eternity!
·
Will we suffer,
YES
·
Will it be
worth it YES!
2 Timothy
4:6–8 (The Message)
6You take over. I’m about to die, my life an offering
on God’s altar.
7This is the only race worth running. I’ve run hard
right to the finish, believed all the way.
8All that’s left now is the shouting—God’s applause!
Depend on it, he’s an honest judge. He’ll do right not only by me, but by
everyone eager for his coming.
All of Gods creation is waiting for Jesus return!
19For the creation waits with eager longing for the
revealing of the sons of God.
·
The bible talks
about a new heaven and a new earth
·
All of Gods
creation is waiting for it
·
Not just us but
all of what god created is waiting
20For the creation was subjected to futility, not
willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
21that the creation itself will be set free from its
bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of
God.
·
When Adam fell
all of Gods creation was subjected to it
·
Death fell to
every living thing
·
And the earth
is a living and breathing thing
·
That’s why no
matter how hard we try we cant stop it
·
No drug can
stop it
·
No greener car
can slow it down
·
We are in count
down mode
·
We were put
over all that God created
·
And we failed
it
·
Do we still do
what God called us to do, Yes!
·
We are to look
out for all that God has created until Jesus returns
·
The Cowboy
culture know this better than any other
·
We utilize what
we have, and care for what we God places in our care
·
It should never
own us, we rule over it, but as God rules over us
22For we know that the whole creation has been
groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
·
We need to take
a lesson from mother nature
·
Stop whining
about your suffering
·
We need its
like labor pains
o In labor there is pain
o There is suffering
o But its all worth it
o Have you ever seen a calf born
o Or a colt
o How beautiful is it!!
o That’s what we are going through now, labor pains
until Christ comes again!
We should understand this better than any creature
on earth!
23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have
the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption
as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
·
We of all of
Gods creation should understand this best
·
If we truly
have the fruit if the spirit we should feel this eager anticipation more than
any
·
It say it
should groan inside you
·
You should feel
life COME ON JESUS
·
We should be
like a dog waiting for his master to come home! (smiley)
·
The dog at the
pound wants adopted
·
The kid in the
foster system wants adopted
·
YOU HAVE BEN
ADOPTED, ARE YOU WAITING FOR YOUR NEW BIG BROTHER TO PICK YOU UP!
24For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is
seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?
·
Is this
something your praying for
·
Is this
something you hope for
·
Or are you just
worried about tomorrow, and the suffering it will bring
·
Do you see you
suffering as endless
·
Or do you see
it as something you have to get through to see the end results??
25But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for
it with patience.
·
Hope brings
patience!
·
We have to know
in our core Jesus is coming back
·
Paul did, and
he suffered well
·
Even in his
suffering he put others first
·
Even in his
suffering he prayed for others
·
How are you
doing??
Even when you don’t know what to pray for, what to
say the Spirit does!
26Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we
do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for
us with groanings too deep for words.
·
When your weak
God knows
·
When your down
God knows
·
When you don’t
know what to pray for the Spirit speaks on your behalf
·
But this is
only for those who truly believe, who truly hope, who not only want God for
today, but for eternity!
27And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of
the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
·
Pay close
attention here
·
Its Gods will
not yours
·
You want
everything your heart desires?
·
It has to be
aligned with Gods will!
·
We get mad at
God, because we don’t get what we want
·
What God wants
if for you to be more like his Son
·
To live to
serve
·
To love others
·
To forgive
always
·
To show grace
when its not deserved
·
To be a part of
his church
·
Are you aligned
with Gods will or are you a selfish brat, still on the bottle, craving your
wants and your desires?
·
Sactifications
takes
·
Sacrifice
·
Suffering
·
Work
·
Time
·
Energy
·
Are you willing
to do what it takes for eternity??
Who’s Purpose??
28And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
There are three things
we over look in this verse!
·
Who love God
o Who serve God
o Who are Justified in the faith
o Who are working to be more like Jeus
o Who know God
o Who have faith in God
o Who have hope in God
·
For Good
o Not your Good
o You might suffer for a season, but its for good
o You might not get what you want, but its for good
o We selfishly insert “our” in this verse
o This is not about you, this is all About Him”
§ His good
§ His glory
·
And you might
just get some Joy out of it if its “According to His purpose”!
o You want Joy, get in line with his purpose
o What is his purpose, read His book
o Do life with his people
o Be in prayer with Him
·
And maybe just
maybe
o You will find joy while living on earth
o You will find peace
o You will find good where there seems to be none
Do you see this verse differently?
