Luke 11:9 (AMP)
So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you.

The normal course of life can wear at hope. Desires go unfulfilled. Opportunities pass-by missed; Expectations fall short. I see the prayer of Luke chapter 11 as hope giving response to such.
A disciple approaches Jesus asking for instruction on Prayer. Jesus in response gives a model prayer and two brief parables. Jesus shows many things in his model prayer. Prayer acknowledges God as father.  As context, a father should be viewed as authority, intimate, and deserving of respect. (Luke 11:2).  Prayer keeps God's mission in focus. Prayer focuses on his kingdom.  Prayer is about finding needs fulfilled in and through God's provision (Luke 11:3).  Prayer brings proper relationship to God. We can give thanks for the forgiveness given to us by God and in return forgive others. We are to seek reconciled relationships. (Luke 11:4).
Most importantly we may know God is faithful to respond to prayer  (Luke 11:5-8). Reading Luke 11:9 felt like a wake-up call. Any misery felt in life should be  brought to God directly. And regardless of the immediate outcome--this scripture challenges, to press on in hope.
