WE can’t lose sight on God's call for this church!!
Proverbs 3:1–8 (NLT)
1My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store My commands in your heart.
· We can't forget what God has called us to do, and who we are trying to reach.
2If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.
· For this church to survive the storms the enemy will bring, we must never lose sight of our mission!
· To reach the lost, the un-churched, the de-Churched.
· We will never be like a mainstream church.
· We have to love, and have a passion for, people who will never hear Jesus preached in a traditional church.
o That means our music will be different.
o Our preaching will be different.
o Our mission field will be different.
3Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.
· We must stay focused on JESUS!
· We have to raise up disciples who have a passion for God, and His word.
· We have to be biblically grounded.
o That means you have to:
o Be involved.
o Be engaged.
o Be under teaching, and leading others.
4Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.
· The traditional church will question us.
· The community will throw darts at us.
· But if we keep Jesus at the center of all we do, God will honor us and bring people to hear His word!
5Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
· This is not about ME.
· This is not about you.
· This is all about JESUS.
· We have to trust that He knows what His church needs.
o Conversation with the bank says,
o We could build a bigger church,
o We could build a fancier Arena,
o But that won't help our mission.
6Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
· We have to base everything we do in Prayer.
· We have to stay on His mission.
o Some will come.
o And some will go.
· We can't stop pushing forward, and must always listen for Him in every thing we do!
7Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
· We have come this far because God has used people who didn’t have any better sense but to seek Him.
· We had no clue what we were doing.
· And we still don’t.
· I can never forget that I am not wise, He is.
· I don’t have a plan, He does.
·
8Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.
· For us to survive, to heal:
o To heal our emotional scars.
o Our wounds from the battle.
o Hurts from the world.
o We need each other, and
· WE NEED JESUS.
We Must Support the Mission
Proverbs 3:9–10 (NLT)
9Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.
· Do you believe in our mission??
· Do you believe in your Leadership??
· Do you want others to know Jesus??
· If you answered No to any of these questions:
o We might not be for you.
o You need to be in a church that you can become invested in.
o You need to follow what God is leading His church to do.
· If you answered YES to these questions:
o Are you vested in your church??
§ Financially?
§ With your time??
§ Are you growing in your walk so you can help lead??
o Are you a Consumer??
§ Do you show up, sit back, and watch it all happen?
§ Its time to get in the game.
§ Stop SITTING ON THE SIDELINES!
o Most people who complain about the church aren’t vested!!
§ People who are vested get involved.
§ People who are vested don’t walk away.
§ People who are vested stick it out even when they're offended.
You have to remember this is not about the pastor, the music, the building! It's about reaching the lost, and to do that, we all have to dig a little deeper. Financially, emotionally, and get it done!
10Then He will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
· You follow God's plan and give to His church.
· Give your time, you may not be rich, but you will always have what you need!
Keep your eyes on the prize, and remember it's all His!
Proverbs 3:27–35 (NLT)
27Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them.
28If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.”
· The TIME is NOW!
· The END is NEAR!
· Its time to get behind this church.
· Its time to Get involved!
· Its time to open your wallets and give to God's mission!
29Don’t plot harm against your neighbor, for those who live nearby trust you.
30Don’t pick a fight without reason, when no one has done you harm.
· The infighting in the church (all of God's people) has to stop!
· We have to stop looking at the person sitting next to us as our enemy
· Its time to start loving and imaging God to your circle of influence!
31Don’t envy violent people or copy their ways.
32Such wicked people are detestable to the Lord, but He offers His friendship to the godly.
33The Lord curses the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the upright.
· Are you Detestable or Godly?
· Are you Wicked or upright?
· Not by man's standards, but By God's Standards?
34The Lord mocks the mockers, but is gracious to the humble.
35The wise inherit honor, but fools are put to shame!
· Its time to stop sitting on the sidelines of life.
· Its time to stop making excuses.
o For why you don’t invest your time
o For why you don’t Give
o For why you choose to live outside God's will
· You want true Joy
· You want Grace that only God will give.
· You want Mercy that only God can show.
· You want true fellowship that only God's people can bring??
It’s your choice, its laid at your feet by the blood of the cross, but God gave you the choice. Have you made it? Or are you still sitting in the stands watching the rest of us, and if you are, isn’t it about time you got off your butt and jumped in the GAME??
