~Jesus is all we need (Part 2)!~

So for two weeks we have said Jesus is Enough, He is all we need!! And we finish with some practical applications in scripture!!

When we are in pain, Jesus us enough!
2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (ESV)
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
4who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
When you’re in pain.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” -2 Corinthians 1:3-4

When you’re confused, Jesus us enough!
Philippians 4:6–7 (ESV)
6do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
·      When we get confused, out of sorts we trust in Jesus
·      We pray, we meditate
·      We go to his word
·      And let God give us the peace
·      He is in control, he knows way more than we do and we trust him
Isaiah 55:9 (ESV)
9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

When you’re scared, Jesus is enough!
Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLT)
6So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
·      The world can be a scary place
·      And we get scared, because of the unknown
·      Like a kid afraid of the dark
·      But when we truly know Jesus, we truly believe there is no more dark
·      Our fate is sealed, our future secure
·      So no more fear!
·      God is in control of it all
·      We will lose people we love
·      We will have tragedy in this world
·      But this world is not our home!

When you’re broken, Jesus is enough!
Psalm 147:3 (NLT)
3He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
·      We throw things away when there broken
·      But God does not! He heals broken, he renews broken
·      He wants us broken, so he can show us a better way
·      Don’t ever be ashamed to be broken
·      Broken, is a good thing
·      Admitting your broken is not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign you’re not alone!
Psalm 34:18 (ESV)
18The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

When you’re stressed, Jesus is enough!
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)
7Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
·      Stress is a killer!
·      It kills our Joy
·      It kills our peace
·      It kills our relationships
·      It kills our bodies
·      Stress is a silent killer of all things Jesus!
o   His comfort
o   Mercy
o   Grace

When you are weak to the things of this world, Jesus is enough!
Isaiah 40:29 (NLT)
29He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
·      We all live on the edge of Sin
·      We all are weak to the things of this world
·      And the strength we need is in Jesus
·      If we would pray first
·      Seek counsel first
·      We would gain strength from the one who
o   Lived sinless
o   Died so you didn’t have to
·      We are only as weak as our relationship with Jesus is

When you are hungry for what this world has to over, Jesus is enough!
Philippians 4:19 (NLT)
19And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
·      We all have a hunger we can’t fill
·      We all have a thirst we can quench
·      And the world say we can find it in it
·      Jesus is the only way to satisfy it
·      Our identify has to be in him, period!
·      Or we will never find a peace and joy on this earth

When you are tired, Jesus is enough!
Matthew 11:28–30 (NLT)
28Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
·      We all get wore out
·      Exhausted
·      We all feel the weight on our shoulders
·      But Jesus says come to me, lay it at my feet
·      And he will give you rest
·      We all want to tap out
·      We all want to give up at times
·      And when we are right there on the edge of giving up Jesus says
o   Take my yoke
o   Learn from me
o   I am gentle at heart
o   And then we can find rest for our souls!
·      I have been tired lately
·      I have been on the ragged edge
·      And I have leaned on Jesus more than I ever have
·      And I have found rest for my soul!!

When you are lonely, Jesus is enough!
2 Corinthians 6:18 (NLT)
18And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
·      I have personally experienced this more than once
·      If your single and lonely Jesus has to be enough
o   You will never find a spouse a significant other if your lonely
o   We make mistakes, we settle when were lonely
·      If you’re a new Christian and you old friends aren’t what Jesus wants in your life Jesus has to be enough
o   Friends come and go
o   Spouses die
o   Kids leave
o   Our identity has to be in Jesus!

When you are abused by this world, Jesus is enough!
2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NLT)
3But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
·      You will be abused by this world
·      You will be abandoned by this world
·      People will fail you
·      Governments will never do right by you
·      Things break

·      The only thing that will never abandon you, never for sake you, never die and never walk away is Jesus!!!!
